POWER CATAMARAN PUBLIC TRIP

THE TRIPLE PLAY TOUR

Prepare for a fun Caribbean adventure on this half-day 3 stop ‘Triple Play’ tour from Grace Bay, Providenciales.

Hop aboard our power catamaran operated by a friendly and professional crew, who attend to your comfort while cruising along the coastline of Grace Bay. The excursion picks up guests along the beach in grace bay at selected hotels and after a safety briefing does an informative beach you will cruise along the islands north coast, out to the North East Point across the sand bars and out to the barrier reef for snorkelling. Follow one of our experienced local guides on one of the most beautiful guided snorkel tours as we snorkel and explore the Leeward Reef, one of the healthiest living reefs in the Atlantic. You will see the usual residents like Snappers, Groupers, Sergeant majors, Trigger fish, Barracuda, Needle fish and sometimes Sharks Rays and Turtles. Leeward Reef is part of the Turks and Caicos Barrier reef network which is the third largest barrier reef system in the world.

You’ll set anchor at the Barrier reef for an opportunity to swim and snorkel in the warm waters of the Turks and Caicos before heading for land to explore pristine beaches and the native Rock Iguanas, learning about their habitat, our efforts to save them and the struggles they face. The location chosen is dependent on the weather. Both Islands are home to the native Rock Iguanas but Little Water Cay is where the National Trust operate their guided tours at a cost of $40 cash per person, payable directly to them (tour optional).

After snorkelling we cruise back towards the rugged coastline with our next stop being either Little Water Cay or Half Moon Bay to explore pristine beaches and to visit the native Rock Iguanas, learn about their habitat, our efforts to save them and the struggles they face. The location chosen to see the Rock Iguanas is usually dependent on the weather. Both Islands are home to the native Rock Iguanas but Little Water Cay is where the National Trust operate their guided tours whereas at Half Moon Bay our guides will take you ashore and take you on a nature tour. Iguana tours are $40 per person payable directly to the tour guides at the sites.

Half Moon Bay is an actual sandbar built by Mother Nature over time and its formation has created in a shallow lagoon area at the back, where we sometimes see bonefish, baby sharks, baby turtles, barracuda, mojarra and sometimes flamingoes. Our guides will take you for a walk along the lagoon, tell you about the iguanas, the different marine life found in the lagoon and give you a bit more information about the area, history of the islands etc.

Next we cruise through the Leeward Channel along the mangroves where most times turtles pop up to say hi, rays and baby sharks meander along the maze of mangrove roots seeking shelter from predators while feeding during their juvenile stage of life. Further along we cruise past the former Premier’s house, the Heaving Down Rock, what’s left of the Conch farm, past Bird Rock and out onto the Caicos banks to the famous stranded freighter in the shallows, also known as ‘La Famille’ Shipwreck for a close up look and a final swim before we get everyone back on board for a non stop cruise back to Grace Bay. If you are lucky you might get to see one or all of our resident wild dolphins and if they are in a good mood and you are super lucky, you might just get to swim with them. (fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed).

Our boats are equipped with state of the art sound systems which plays continuous music of the captains choice. Soak up the sun while watching for dolphins as you enjoy the open bar as we head back to Grace Bay.

If the weather does not permit a ride to the Shipwreck, you will journey a bit further east and cruise along the North coast and cays and stop at one of the beautiful beaches to relax, swim, chill, hunt for shells and Sand Dollars or just roll around in the waves on the sand bars.

With all three stops completed, we board the boat for a non-stop cruise back to your pick up point, accompanied by boat music and a moving picturesque view that will be forever etched into your mind. Onboard you can enjoy deli sandwiches and fresh fruits, rum punch, local beers, soft drinks or bottled water.
